OUTFIT DU JOUR - Everyone's Got a Sin

I must admit that I've always had a sweet tooth, especially for dark chocolate.  During my last pregnancy, I took my indulgence to heart and this time is no exception (hey, the pregnant lady has "cravings" ok?!?).

Yeah, well my "cravings" were abruptly interrupted when my doctor told me that the sugar level in my blood is on the high side...what does that mean anyways?

But chocolate is good for my health: it stops my headache (now that I can't drug myself) and makes me so happy!  Now what should I do when my hormones are all over the place?!?  Ok, I might be slightly exaggerating...but still!  Oh...what a party pooper!!!

SHOPPING - Saw Sole

New to me are these Camilla Skovgaard open toe  booties!  They came straight from my best friend's closet (don't you love shopping in your friend's closet...it's like having a personal shopper pre-selecting items for you!) as she ordered them online only to find out they're a size too small...

Don't be fooled by the 4" sky-high heels, the signature rubber saw soles are like cushions on the palm of your feet.  And the suede lining, which can be up or folded down, makes them comfortable even for my swollen pregnant feet!!!  In fact, I wore them all night with my swan outfit for the Halloween party!

Oh well, her loss is my gain!

LAST NIGHT - The Swan Affair

It's Halloween weekend and a bunch of our friends did not miss the occasion to dress up (in fact, we're always looking for an excuse!!!).  The girls decided to go as swans...however, some of us ended up looking like Avatar, some like Pocahontas, and myself...rather like a black goose!

Anyways, just anther awesome saturday night!

IN THE MOOD FOR - Halloween-Ready

With Halloween parties just around the corner, do you have your conversation-starter costume ready?  If not, the easiest and fastest way to feel disguised is an over-the-top-custome-made pair of A-Morir sunglasses!

Not only they are fashion statements, they can also transform your average off-duty mommy look (ok, maybe I'm just talking about myself here...) to a Cabaret dancer, a cool hippie from the 70's or even Pocahontas!!!  And as a bonus, you'll be able to wear them to the next Lady Gaga concert!

warning: be prepared to fork out $900+ a pair

ACCESSORIES ENVY

Parisian editor Virginie Dhello from Air France Madame magazine teamed up with The Coveteur to present an exquisite collection from the home of the Latners (Lynda Latner and Yael Kanter).

I think we can all agree that this sum the absolute best accessory collection anyone can image!  An eclectic mix of new and vintage pieces in the most prestigious house names in the business, from Eddie Borgo to Christian Louboutin to Louis Vuitton.

Personally, I can't help but to admire the Cartier Clou bracelet (5th pic bottom right), the LV rhinestones sunglasses (7th pic), the Ralph Laurent snake chain belt (last pic) and everything Hermes (including coffee sleeves)!

Une Journée à Paris

(Harper's Bazaar China Oct 2012)

All the glamour and glitz of Paris, captured in one editorial.  I love the cream ostrich feather headpiece with fishnet...with I have the occasion to wear something like that.

MAIN EVENT - A Fairytale Wedding

Yesterday was my girlfriend QQ's big day: her long anticipated wedding at the Peninsula!  After a year of drama, it all came together...more fairytale-like than I have imagined.

For me the highlight of the day was her vows, a warm speech unrehearsed from her heart that moved everyone and made the groom cry (not to mention all the bridesmaids and myself!).

And of course, it's impossible not to notice the array of beautiful gowns (including the custom-made wedding dress that requires some Cirque du Soleil moves to put on) that the bride wore.  I am most in awe with her red Oscar de la Renta, which was worn for her first dance!  Mind you, with a model figure like QQ, she would probably look amazing in a potato sack...
